Tell A Story is a community blog that focuses on building happy communities through helping people open up and telling their stories.
These can be stories about success, failure, happiness, sorrow, love and relationships, heartbreak, betrayal, online dating, parenting, baby daddy, campus life or even confessions.
Its through these stories that we laugh, cry, learn, unlearn, motivate and encourage each other and unburden ourselves in the process.
The beauty of Tell A Story is that you don’t need to register anywhere to tell your story. You just go the the Submit Story area on the menu and tell your story. Not a good writer? Worry not. You can tell your story through an audio or by sending a video.
We are all about good vibes.
Everyone has had a story along these lines:
1. Story of My Life
Life is a journey. Some fly up in the air. Some drive in big cars. Some are the nduthi guys, and some walk to their destination. The cards some of us have been dealt are worse than others. But at the end of the day, we chose life. We want to hear that story about the day you met your dad after 20 years. How you met. How that moment unfolded. Your reaction. His reaction. How the rest of that day was. How it changed your life. What you learnt and how those lessons can impact others. How was life growing up and what kind of a relationship do you guys have now? Tell your story
2. Marriage
We have both happy and sad stories that originate from our family setting. Might be a story about a son who admires the mother, a father who has sexual relations with both the wife and the daughter, a reformed drunkard parent e.t.c. We want to that story about a husband who has been suffering wife battering for years but can’t speak out because of the stigma. We want to get help from others who have gone through certain experiences and general advice about how to have a happy family. Tell your story
3. Parenting
Parenting in this era is one of the toughest tasks. Parents are faced with new age problems which are hard to deal with. Are you grounding your kids or are you doing things old-school? What’s the biggest challenge and the biggest scare that you have as a parent raising up a kid or kids in this era of the internet and exposure? We’d like to know how you are managing. Tell your story
4. Baby Daddy
Sometimes a man will make you pregnant and then just disappear miraculously. Some men are surely dongs and should grow tails wherever it is that they find comfort as they leave a woman to carry the burden alone. Worst of it all is that they cal you years later to ask about how the kid is doing. Nooo, which kid? The one you left to die or? Tell your story
5. Love and Relationships
Love is a beautiful thing, so they say. But sometimes Love hurts! And when it does, everything hurts. We want to read that story about that lady who changed her mind in the eleventh hour after all the wedding plans had been made and dowry paid. We want to hear that story about that boyfriend who you dated for 3 years only to later choose your sister over you and they even went ahead and got married. How you felt about it. How you coped with it. Have you gotten over it? What’s your relationship with your sister and your brother in-law? Tell your story
6. Online Dating
Since the advent of the internet, the world has seen the good, the bad and the ugly through the tap of a button. It’s either you are a man dating another man disguising himself as a woman or you are a woman dating a an ‘online tycoon’ only to meet a man who can’t even buy himself an underwear. Met an online fraudster who promised you the world and then disappeared with your money? We want to read about those online dating escapades. Tell your story
7. Campus Life
Let’s rewind. Back in high school and in campus we all had crazy staff going on. A story about that lecturer who was on your neck to give you a straight A and how you got lured into his trap and then he ended up giving you an F. We want to read those crazy survival tactics back in high school and the msoto and twisted lifestyles that we had back in campo. Tell your story
8. Confessions
We can agree on this; that everyone has a secret. Some are darker than others. Some are funny. Some are weird. Some can land one in prison. Some are laughable. Whichever the secret it is, we are curious to read about it. Tell your story
